My Saturday Night Live Favorites

February 15, 2015 By Candy

Saturday Night Live is celebrating 40 years of being on the air. I have been watching SNL since I was a teenager and any other times we catch re-runs on television. The hubs and I are huge fans! As a tribute I wanted to share with you My Saturday Night Live Favorites. Granted I can’t show you all of them because a few of them I can’t find on YouTube anymore. I understand they are taken down after they are up a bit.. sadness. Although WatchMojo.com got quite a few of my favorites in their Top 10 list and they have awesome Top Moments for some of our favorite cast members.

“Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger” anyone?

I could go on and on about our favorite cast members too. Here’s a few of our favorites:

  • Chris Farley
  • Kristen Wiig
  • Andy Sandberg
  • Cheri O’Teri
  • Anna Gastyer
  • Molly Shannon
  • Eddie Murphy
  • Jimmy Fallon
  • Jim Belushi
  • Ellen Klegghorn
  • Phil Hartman
  • Will Ferrell
  • Horatio Sans

Gosh that’s only naming a few.. Glamour has an awesome article on the recent shoot they did with the Women of SNL. Check it out here. Love those ladies!!

Saturday Night Live has had some amazing hosts too!! Here’s a few of our favorites:

  • Justin Timberlake
  • Alec Baldwin (Bit of Trivia: Did you know Baldwin has hosted SNL the most times?! YES!)
  • Drew Barrymore
  • Scarlet Johansen
  • Christopher Walken

Two of my absolute faves! I love it when celebrity hosts really get into the characters. It’s always memorable when a celeb can make fun of themselves and their fellow celebs.

The 3.5 hour special to be aired on NBC on Sunday, Feb 15!

Don’t miss it! There’s even going to be red carpet arrivals aired at 7 pm ET! I’m super excited!

Question:

Who’s your favorite SNL alum or host?

Candy

I still haven’t watched this yet. I couldn’t commit to 3.5 hours at one time, so it’s on my DVR to be watched in sections this weekend.

I haven’t watched the 40th Anniversary Special yet – but there are SO many good SNL hosts/alum. I don’t think I can pick one or a few favorites!

My only complaint about your article is you missed mentioning both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler 🙂 Regardless, that show has put out some major talent over the years, and the special looks spectacular!

It really was a great special. I’ve been an SNL fan since high school and it was awesome to see all the old cast members again. Funny how many major celebrities got their start doing silly skits.

I don’t think I have ever watched SNL. My husband and son will stay up and watch it sometimes. It sounds like it is pretty funny.

I usually don’t watch SNL a lot, but I have more lately. I watched some of their special the other day.

I haven’t seen an episode in a long time but some of your favorites are the same as mine. I guess I missed the 40th Anniversary event, but i might be able to catch it again.

I watched SNL as a kid and loved it. As an adult I kind of lost interest.

I haven’t had a chance to watch the anniversary special yet, but I’m hoping to sit down with it this week.

I miss SNL. We got rid of Cable just over a year ago and I always miss everything now. SNL was always a riot!

So, here’s a thought. Saturday Night Live started the year I was born. hahahah I guess I never really realized that. I’m going to be 40 in a few months. I remember my parents watching SNL. When I was younger my favorite was Dana Carvy and Church Lady. I quite watching it shortly after Chris Farley passed away.

I love so many of them. Probably Steve Martin and Tina Fey. I also think Jon Lovitz is hilarious. It was a great special.
