Colors of Me err my hair

October 18, 2012 By Candy

 I am feeling very vain lately. I’ve noticed a lot of greys popping up everywhere and I’m sad about it. I’m sure you are thinking, “Ah they can’t be that bad- but they are! 🙁  well atleast to me! hehehe

I have been coloring my hair since I was in 8th grade, thanks to my mother for letting my creative outlet be in my hair color. I couldn’t go to0 wild since I was in a school that didn’t allow it, so the blacker the better was what I was after. I always wanted platinum grey high lights. Always thought that would be so cool. Right? What was I thinking- I now have home grown grey high lights and I’m struggling to decide what I want to do with them? Should I go with the platinum high lites or continue to dye them the colors of the rainbow? Yes as you can see below in the pic I’ve had a colorful life.

I was able to fulfill my wanting to dye my hair the colors of the rainbow thanks to my hubby. When I worked, I had a corporate type job that didn’t allow my true colors in my hair so I had be to subdued in hues. When I became a stay at home mommy all bets were off. Thankfully my hubby doesn’t mind either. Yes there are some men that rule the ways of women and I’m proud my honey is not one of those men. LOL

Funny thing about the bright blue hair- I actually got recognized out around town when we lived in Ft. Bragg by a woman who recognized me from a forum! How funny is that?!

{Top left: bright blue, Top Right: purple high lites,  Bottom left: burgundy, Middle bottom: lite blue (fading) Bottom right: blond highlites}

So right now I’m sporting some major roots with blond high lites. (the pic on the end on the right) I’m seriously considering going the deep bright blue or a purple color. Maybe even a mix or just going red for the fall. But then I think- am I too motherly now to go crazy with the colors? Because when I color- I go permanent. It’s gonna last awhile.

I gotta be me, so colors it is. I love that having it bleached out like it is, I have a blank palate to work on. That totally sounded like my hair is my art. hehehe. It’s my creative outlet. Help me figure out what color I should go with!

Question:

If you could color your hair any color what color would it be?  What color do you think I should go with?  Do you like to do wild styles or are you vanilla yogurt?

Update: I went with purple and I hate it! 🙁  It’s dark and just made my hair look black. I am going bright blue as soon as it starts fading.

    At least it’s not a perm. I got a bad perm in high school and I tried to wash it out and it turned into a hot mess ! I looked like a deranged poodle !
