It’s a special edition of Thursday Thoughts from yours truly! My Thursday thoughts of Thanksgiving!
So today it being a day of thanks and giving, I wanted to tell you a few things that I am thankful for in my life. To avoid it being a numbered list.. here’s my top blah blah blah I’ll write in paragraphs for you.
I’m thankful for all of you first and foremost. This little blog that could would not be without you reading my thoughts and fun stuff I like to share. In regards to my life of course I’m thankful for my family, being the hubs and my two wild boys, my parents and my sisters and everyone that I love. I’m a pretty lucky girl. I recognize that on a daily basis. To the amazing brands I’ve had the honor of working with.. dude seriously I can’t believe it sometimes. Not that it’s fame and fortune, rolling in but I’m just so thankful.
You working on Thanksgiving day, today.. working the crazy Pre-Black Friday festivities.. I’m super thankful for you!! My family is spending Thanksgiving away from our extended family and just spending it as a family of four this year. I’m not even cooking ya’ll.. Yeah it’s that kind of holiday.. While in a hotel room, it’s difficult to prepare a whole Thanksgiving day meal, we will be going to a restaurant and dining there. I’m still not sure where.. (I’m writing this post early).. But I can’t express my thanks to the workers in the service industry enough this time of year. We aren’t in the middle of a move just yet, but so many military families are and they don’t have a place to cook so they need you all working today. I can say it enough THANK YOU FOR WORKING THANKSGIVING DAY! I’m sorry you won’t be with your family, but know that we appreciate you spending it with our families!
This also includes everyone at the PD, the Fire Departments, Hospitals and any other working to ensure our safety and healthcare. THANK YOU!!
This will be our second time having Thanksgiving alone. Our first was November of 2006, I had just given birth to A in September and we had our first move with the Army to North Carolina. We had a place already for us so we ordered a Thanksgiving meal box from Walmart on Skibo road.. You know the one.. and yes it was scary because everyone was scurrying around trying to get their last minute fixings. We were together our new little family and that’s all that mattered. Just as it is this year, we are all together and that’s what makes it special. Hopefully next year we will spend it with family, but only time will tell what’s going on then.
Oh and don’t let me forget to include the Movie Theaters! We will most likely be taking the boys to the The Penguins movie so thank you for working on this day!
It never fails, every November people begin to talk, post and comment about the service industry that stays open during Thanksgiving or the stores are opening up too early.. What about family time!? What about family time? My family is in my heart and they were always with me when I worked on Black Friday. I don’t see anything wrong with Black Friday shopping either.. You know I partake in it.. Our country needs the economic boost.. If you don’t like it, don’t go and don’t ruin everyone elses’s fun by bashing the idea of it and condeming folks for being out with the crazies.. or what-have you.. If you enjoy people watching, this is the best nigth/morning for it. I’ve seen ladies make a girls overnight of it, couples doing the shopping together to make sure they get what they came for and even families with kids in tow excited about what they are going to “score.” So don’t damn it because it’s not your cup of tea ok. Other’s enjoy it..
I’m thankful that I live in a country where my opinions, as well as yours are free because of the people who serve! My family members, the hubs and countless friends that we have made along the way of this wonderful jounrney I’m thankful for you! The freedoms that spew from our mouthes are because of your work and dedication. Thank You!
Ok so there was a little spit fire in this post. You know I dont’ normally talk about that kind of stuff.. I like to keep it fun and happy. If there’s a positive place, I would love that you can come here and find it. I may post sponsored posts, but in each of those posts are stories of me and my family, things that I love and enjoy. I just wanted to get that off my chest.
Thanks for letting me do that!
Wishing you and your family an amazing day of Thanksgiving~
God Bless!!
