Hiking with Ribz
We love the outdoors. When we got orders for our next duty station, our family was very excited about enjoying the outdoor activities San Angelo, Texas has to offer. One thing we have been enjoying lately is hiking with Ribz in the San Angelo State Park. Sometimes our hikes are not as long and we hang out with the prairie dogs and just sit while the boys run around. Ribz has been an accessory we have been carrying or wearing along since receiving it for review from Ribzwear.
Let me tell you about this amazing product. There are days when carrying a huge backpack just are too much. Since receiving the Ribz front pack we have not only taken it hiking in the state park but are now considering other venues to take the pack to. Very excited about the possibilities too!
The great design of the product allows for it to sit comfortably on your chest and make accessibility for your items very easy. The ease of access on the chest is pretty amazing when you are used to using a backpack. One of the worst things during our hikes is having to stop and take off the backpack to pull out a misc item. We haven’t had to make any impromptu stops since using Ribz! I just reach the front pack and get what we need. The double pocket design is very roomy. I have been able to fit a whole package of wipes in the big pocket, snacks, water and emergency equipment in the other pockets just in case.
Another very important feature of the Ribz product is the support it offers. It’s built like a back brace that has the ability to not put so much stress on ones back if the front load is too heavy. Padding on the shoulder pads so that it doesn’t cut into your shoulders. The best way to put it on- is unzipping the front of the pack in between each pocket packs. I tried stepping into it and depending on the weight of the items in the pockets the made it a challenge. Unzip the two and slip it on. It’s the best way.
I come from a family of hunters/outdoors people and I can see a Ribz pack in a few of my family member’s future too. It will come in very handy while out deer hunting and would work fantastically for my sister and her husband for fishing! Wondering what it’s made of? Ribz is made of 210d water resistant ripstop nylon and is water resistant. Ribz can be worn alone and it is also be used in conjunction with a backpack or ruck sack as the back part of the pack is slim and comfortable to wear under another as well.
RIBZ retails for $59.95 and comes in the following colors: Alpine (hunter green color), Stealth (black), Camo and Grey.

Cool product! We do a lot of hiking, too, and I do find the backbacks cumbersome and straining on the shoulders/back after a while.
