If I had to come up with two words to describe Netflix’s newest series, Maya and the Three they would be Masterful and Magical. I cannot wait for the masses to visually enjoy Maya and The Three on Netflix, Friday, October 22. Creator, Director, and Executive Producer, Jorge R. Gutiérrez has created a series that will entertain and excite you. The amazing Zoe Saldaña is the voice of Maya, a Mesoamerican warrior princess and series heroine. You will be impressed with the entire cast of all-stars. Make sure to check out the question I posed to Zoe Saldaña about the series on my YouTube channel or down below in the post.
Thank you to Netflix for the opportunity to participate in the press event for this truly magical series.
The Series
Get ready to laugh, cheer and feel the story of Maya and The Three. I watched the screeners for this series thinking we only had access to the three. I kept watching and saw the entire series in one night. Yes, it was that good and I was hooked from the first episode. I LOVE Maya and this story. Creator, Jorge R. Gutiérrez, did such an amazing job with the story and character development. The characters are rich and the story line keeps you captivated and rooting for victory. Visually it is stunning, the scenes are full and if you are a Book of Life fan, make sure you pay close attention as you’ll see some Easter Eggs in the series. Truly magical and masterful. I can’t say that enough. A great series for families to watch together. All nine episodes are going to suck you in and you’re going to LOVE being in Maya’s world. It’s going to be a two thumbs up series for
Quinceñera
In Mexican culture, when a young girl reaches the age of 15, it is celebrated as her “Quinceñera”. It’s like an American Sweet Sixteen. It’s a whole event that is very special. Maya and the Three begins with Maya celebrating her Quinceñera and it’s one she won’t forget!
Quote
“If it is to be, it is up to me” is a quote you’ll hear throughout Maya and The Three. Here’s what Zoe had to say about what it meant to her.
Familia
In Hispanic culture, family is everything. Maya and the Three shows a beautiful family dynamic and truly keeps the theme of familia throughout the entire series. Remember, blood does not always make family.
