Tis the season and it’s not Christmas without watching A Christmas Story, am I right? If watching A Christmas Story is a part of your holiday traditions, get ready to add A Christmas Story Christmas to your holiday-watching list. Yes, Ralphie is back! Just as we have all grown up, he has also grown up and for this movie, we join Ralphie as an adult and father. The wonderful Peter Billingsley is back as Ralphie in A Christmas Story Christmas. Many thanks to our friends at Warner Bros and Boutique Publicity, for the opportunity to prescreen the film that everyone else will enjoy on November 17th, streaming on HBO Max. I also had the opportunity to speak with Billingsley, more on that below. Here’s my quick movie review on A Christmas Story Christmas.
“A Christmas Story Christmas” Holiday Tradition
“A Christmas Story Christmas” will be an addition to your holiday viewing. A film that most of us have enjoyed a few if not all holidays past now comes with a sequel. Bust out the fragile leg lamp. While it is not the original, “A Christmas Story Christmas” brings the charm and warmth only a holiday movie can bring and you can totally share it with your family with its PG rating.
The Gang Is Back Together
Yes, the film screams nostalgia. The fans of the original film will be happy to see familiar faces that have matured into adulthood. One of my favorite scenes in the film comes when Ralphie runs into the bad boy, Scut Farcus (Zack Ward) from the original and we all feel nervous about what is going to happen next! I won’t add too many spoilers in this post. But I was happy that his friends Schwartz (RD Robb) and Flick (Scott Schwartz), join Billingsley 30 years later to complete the film.
Bit of a Spoiler
This is a bit of a spoiler for you, but Ralphie returns home as a father and ultimately the father figure of the Parker household. Darren McGavin, who played “the Old Man,” died back in 2006, and while he is missed, viewers will still be able to feel his presence in this film.
Interview
Yes! I had the opportunity to speak with Peter Billingsley, and I totally got to ask the first question. Check it out on YouTube NOW!
