September is a huge month for birthdays in our home. When I say huge I mean 3 out of the 4 members of our family have a birthday! My dear husband (DH) or “the hubs”; our oldest son- Aramis turned 6 yesterday and in 9 days my baby Ezra turns 1. Yeah it’s a big party at my house right now and the cake won’t stop flowing until the 22nd.
(Sweet tooth much? You’d be in heaven over here! Can you say Butter cream Frosting)
I had a sliver of cake to celebrate with my big boy. I had to! I’m the mommy, LOL.
Funny story attached to this picture. We just moved to West Texas in August. I have no friends here (Doesn’t that just break your heart for me?-I’ll be fine) Aramis started Kindergarten this year and he’s super chatty (wonder who he gets that from right? all signs point to me!) of course he made a friend and if he’s like any of your kids he’s pushing for me to meet the little boy’s mom so he can have a play-date. What do I do? I chase the mom down and introduce myself. Actually I drove up on her- err drove up along her car and rolled down my window. Introduced myself and explained the situation about his birthday and wanting to have a little get together for the boys. Not at my house, but at a public location so they would’t feel creeped out by us.. one thing led to another a couple days later we are at the local pizza place having a party. A party of 8. Hey it worked and my little guy was happy. In the end that’s all that matters, right!- I’d do almost anything for my kids. And maybe mommy made a friend too. (I’ll keep you posted on that!)
I wouldn’t say that’s the strangest thing I’ve ever done for my babies, but I can totally see that same situation happening again in my life. Specially if we move right before school starts- oh the life of an Army wife!
Whats the strangest thing you’ve ever done for your kids? Would you have done what I did? Am I crazy? ooh don’t answer that.
