After the holidays the Spring semester is “Go-Time” for high school students looking towards getting into college the upcoming Fall semester. If they don’t already know where they are going in the fall, the rush to get all of the needed documents in to seal the deal on their future begins. All of the resources needed for families ready to send their children to college can be found on HSF.net.
When I was a Junior/Senior in high school I was very interested in what options I had. I want my boys to just as prepared if not more when they reach this age. In using the HSF website parents and their children can work together and gain the understanding of what is ahead of the college prep process. You’ll find great options on the tool bar specifically for parents, students, scholars, alumni, community partners, and corporate partners. It’s broken down very well and full of information.
I recall when I was a junior/senior my parents pushed for us to look into going to college. In the late 90’s the internet was slowing chugging online via dial-up so information wasn’t as prevalent as it is today. It’s amazing when we have at our finger tips. With each generation I notice that we understand more and more and that is a good thing! The more we know the better we can prepare our children and ourselves in regards to furthering their education past high school. Scholarships and all that jazz can get very complicated.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund offers a great opportunity for college students to receive between $500- $5,000. As my mother always says, “Every little bit helps!” And the best part about the HSF site is how easy it is to understand. As I mentioned above each person that is working with your child can access the site and gain more information in regards to applying, successfully submitting and accepting the scholarship if endowed to your child. This site makes me so excited for when my boys get into high school.
