I’ve got a great list of the best lemon recipes for summer, for you to add to your summer menu. Memorial Day weekend marks the start of summer, and if you are also in Southern Arizona, you are starting to feel the burn. We are supposed to have a more aggressive monsoon season this year, so I actually expect humid afternoons after the rain is done. Either way, I am excited for a summer of fun and one or two outdoor dinner party events with friends. I’m excited to try all of the delicious recipes because they are the best lemon recipes for summer.
Lemon Dessert Recipes
What’s the saying? “Life is uncertain, eat dessert first?” I’m going to say, yes. Let’s start with dessert. I hope you are a fan of lemon-flavored desserts! I’ve got some delicious options for you! Amy from Living Locurto has this amazing, Lemon Pudding Cheesecake recipe that looks amazing! And guess what? You can freeze it! Party of one? Just slice it up and freeze individual slices whenever you want to enjoy it!
I feel like lemon-flavored desserts will be a staple in our home because Mixin Mamas has a Frozen Lemonade Pie that looks so cool and refreshing. If you are expecting a hot summer, add these recipes to your summer list of must-makes. This will be perfect to enjoy after a good monsoon rain as we watch the steam come off of the hot gravel. It kind of looks like it will be like ice cream, doesn’t it?
Not a pie or cheesecake person? How about fluff? Marathons & Motivation has an amazing Lemon Fluff Salad recipe that is AMAZING! This recipe is actually very nostalgic for me. I always loved seeing all the beautiful desserts people would bring to gatherings and events. The fluff salads were always so intriguing to me because they are definitely not usual in Northern Mexican cuisine. So seeing this recipe tugged at my heart and I’m so excited to share it with you too and make it this summer. My kids love marshmallows, so they will love this recipe.
Lunch Dinner Recipes
When we lived in Tampa, we loved going to Tarpon Springs for Greek food. It was such a beautiful area and the food was absolutely delicious. You know I’ve never tried to recreate any of the dishes? I know, I can’t believe it either. Well this summer, I’m trying out Cravings of a Lunatic‘s Greek Chicken recipe. You better believe it is made with fresh lemon juice. I feel like the lemon juice helps break down the chicken so that it is moist and tender and gives it a little tang. And don’t you forget the feta in the recipe, because as Aramis says, “feta makes everything betta”, he’s so funny.
If you like wings, you’ll want to try Air Fryer Foodie‘s Lemon Pepper wings. I absolutely LOVE using my air fryer. It is so easy to use and even easier to clean. These lemon pepper wings, my oldest will definitely be making this recipe. I love that he enjoys being in the kitchen and cooking for everyone. It brings me lots of joy to know that he will not ever go hungry because he doesn’t know how to cook. He knows and actually is considering culinary school. More on that to come! Back to these wings!
Have I given you plenty to consider? I can’t share delicious without giving you delicious options for drinks now, can I? You’ve got to try Aguas Frescas recipes from In Mama Maggie’s Kitchen. When we go to a Mexican restaurant that might be the second question I ask, do you have aguas frescas? If they say no, I might judge them a little bit, but then order a water or a Coke to drink. Once you’ve had them, you will want them all the time. As a matter of fact, I’ve got fresh watermelon in my fridge, I’m off to make some agua de sandia (watermelon water).
