We had the opportunity to speak to Producer/Director Jamie Mitchell and Story Editor Krista Tucker. From the Pages to the Screen
Every story in the show is original. While Disney now owns the rights to the Fancy Nancy franchise, Tucker and Mitchell stressed the importantce of keeping the origins of the books true. “One of the great things about Nancy is that she’s flawed,” says Tucker. Her flaws lend themselves to comedy and conflict. The themes the show covers are Nancy’s creativity and her want of changing the world into what she wants it be. As a situational comedy, the show puts Nancy and her friends into different scenarios in order to provide humor and teach lessons to children ages 2-7.

She’s so Fancy
Yes! Nancy is totally fancy. Your kids will learn a little bit of French watching the series, so pull out the text books from high school! I absolutely love looking at the vibrant stills, don’t agree? Here’s a cool bit of info on her hair: Fancy Nancy’s hair is made out of 236 pieces and you can appreciate strands of hair on her head. The way it moves reminded me of Moana.
We screened the first episode and it was so cute! With each episode the characters will develop more and you’re going to love the girls and the boys! Yes, it’s a show that also includes boys. Everything takes place in the cul de sac forthe kids to have a safe environment. Nancy has a baby brother that you are going to just love.

The bestselling book series hits the small screen when Disney Junior’s animated family comedy Fancy Nancy debuts on July 13, 2018. The show follows the adventures of six-year-old Nancy Clancy, a little girl on a mission to change the ordinary into the extraordinary!
I like that she is flawed and realistic, yet interesting, great character for girls.
Nancy is a fantastic addition to the Disney Junior line up.
