If you’re a Disney fanatic, like I am- you’re going to be thrilled with the lineup of films they have planned for the rest of the year. Here are five Disney movies you don’t want to miss in 2019. Ready? Bring on the magic!
Rise Of Skywalker
Star Wars is coming to an end. Okay, maybe not Star Wars itself but the Skywalker saga certainly seems to be which has spanned nine movies over countless decades. It’s incredible to think of the impact Star Wars has had on cinema. Details about how the series will wrap up are under wraps though there have been a couple of trailers. One more trailer is expected later this month, presumably to announce tickets going on sale. JJ Abrams is back to steer the franchise home after directing the record-breaking Force Awakens.
Frozen 2
Disney didn’t rush the sequel to frozen into cinemas. They wanted to give time to the writers and directors to craft a worthy sequel to the smash hit. It seems that they have finally landed on the right tale to tell as Frozen will be in cinemas this November, just in time for Christmas. We’ve had teases of the new ‘Let It Go’ that is sure to be just as catchy. We are also promised a darker tale while the directors have suggested that things won’t be the same by the end of the movie. This has led people to suggest Frozen 2 could be the Disney Animation of Equivalent of Avengers: Endgame at least in terms of stakes.
Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil
Don’t let the title fool you, while misunderstood, Maleficent is still very much the anti-hero of this new retelling of Sleeping Beauty. Though there is some suggestion that the sequel is going to lean more towards the iconic villain we know and love. The first one was both heartbreaking and fun so there’s no reason not to believe this one will live up to the hype. Box office predictions are a little soft however there’s still time for interest in this movie to build so we can get a trilogy.
Noelle
Turning your attention to streaming Noelle provides a worthy reason to sign up for Disney + and a compelling statement about why you should be familiar with the latest streaming apps. Sources like Troypoint has info on the ones you should definitely be using. Noelle tells the tale of the son of Santa Claus disappearing before he’s due to take over the job. Santa’s daughter, played by Anna Kendrick, heads to our world to find him with what we can only assume will be hilarious results. If you’re still waiting for ‘Disenchanted,’ the long-planned sequel to Enchanted, this might just fill the void with a festive spin.
Lady And The Tramp
Finally, another reason to sign up for Disney + is to gain access to the live retelling of Lady and the Tramp. The dogs are real, the setting looks magical and the story is the one we all know and love with a new twist. It’s unconfirmed whether it has the songs or if they have opted to take the Mulan route but regardless it certainly looks like a Disney hit.
Question:
Which film are you most excited about?
Cheers!
