Open Letter to the Kettle Bell

Open Letter to the Kettle Bell

Yes, you read the title right.. This is an Open Letter to the Kettle bell.

K.B.. I hope you are listening.. I have mixed emotions about you to be completely honest.

kettlebellThat’s right I’m so bad ass I put my initial on it!

I learned of kettle bells a few years ago and never had the chance to give them a good ol’ swing until a week ago.  Was I excited? Not going to lie- just a little bit. But I was worried:  Would I swing it correctly? What if I hit myself with the weight? Will it bump my underside when the weight goes in between my legs? Would that hurt? How many pounds should I start out with?

Those questions just didn’t matter the third round of swings during boot camp. I was told I had a good swing and that felt good. Because I was swinging my little heart out even though I wasn’t doing as many as everyone else because this was my first time. First time-shmirst time. I wanna go all the way- all the time. But I’ll build up to it.

The day after my first boot camp with kettle bells I was sore all over. As a matter of fact, I was feeling the soreness hours later. Amazing! Love that feeling. Would I change anything about the kettle bell? Probably that I started out with a 26lber.. but in guess I’m proud that I could hang with that size. Do I want to buy a kettle bell of my own? Absolutely! If you see any good deals for one let me know! I would love to get my swing on at home. So my closing thought- Kettle bell you are in my life to stay. I think what we’ve got going right now is amazing and it can only get better. I look forward to more swinging!!

Ok so on to the weight loss. This is my fourth post on the progress from being a Shaklee 180 blogger. I did have a 2 lb weight loss this month. Those were the hardest 2lbs ever too! I would gain and loose them from one day to another. I’m sure I’m back up to 189 now. But I won’t even think about that right now. Let’s celebrate the little victories people!

Thank God for a 2lb loss. I have been so hard on myself lately. I haven’t really been loosing much weight and it bums me out that I do all I can to get it off and it refuses to go.

The total loss since the beginning of the program is 10 lbs. Holy smokes- I had not even realized that I hit the 10lb mark. How exciting!

So off I go on to month 5. I’m really hoping that this month I see more lbs drop. I am doing a Bob Harper DVD workout daily along with boot camp twice a week and yoga once a week. It’s getting down to the wire of the 6 month program and I want to shed more weight.

Question:

How are you doing?? Has the summer affected your numbers?

I started my weight loss “plan” about a year ago. It really has been a challenge. I started walking and know I can run, I even race in April my first 10k. I also started eating as healthy as possible, but not an actually diet (I hate diets). But, this summer has been chaotic, with the moving, the kids out of school and other stuff, I’ve eaten so bad, and not exercising well. But I really want to start again!
Congrats on your weight loss, is not easy, but have done it right.

Thanks Blanca! You’ll totally get back into. Give yourself time.. I’ve noticed when I’m rushed and flustered it’s easier to just not.. 🙁 But we will get there!

It’s not about the numbers Candy. I participated in a 30 day Zumba challenge & I only lost 3lbs but I lost 3 inches off my arms, 3 off my thighs, and 4 off my waist 🙂 keep it up girlie!

Ugh I know Yadira.. but I’ve been at this so long and it’s just so dang discouraging 🙁 But thanks for the support. It means a lot. 🙂 Did you do Zumba for 30 days? That’s awesome!! You got great results! I have considered doing that 🙂 I bet it was fun too!!
