Our school routine is going smoothly and it feels like we are finally back to normal on being in school and doing our after school activities. Everyday Big A brings home his daily homework and we go over it together once he’s done. We prep all week for his Friday morning spelling test and hope that he has a great day. I am one of those parents, I like to make sure he’s getting all of his assignments taken care of and he’s behaving in class. Ever since he started attending school I always made it a point to get to know his teacher so that there would be an open line of communication. Enter technology and now any and all parents whether they speak English will have the opportunity to open up the lines of communication using the Living Tree app.
Here’s more information regarding LivingTree!
and Make sure to join us for a fun Twitter party on Wednesday, September 23rd 4PM Central Standard Time.

I stalk my kids teachers email, so I am always in contact with them, but I think this sounds like an awesome idea.

Sorry I missed this twitter party, I am a former Special Education Teacher, I think apps like this will make it easier for parents and teachers to remain in contact throughout the school year.
Pam says
This sounds like a really helpful app. I bet it will be useful to lots of people!

This sounds like a very useful app. It would have made things easier when my son went to public school. His teachers were not very good at communicating with us. That is part of the reason we decided to homeschool.
Lindsey says
I could have used a system like this when I taught public school. Sometimes all the heads weren’t talking to one another, and that made it difficult.

I am a total helicopter mom when it comes to school. Luckily, I know my son’s teacher very well this year, so I can contact her via Facebook to make sure nothing gets missed. I think this app will come in handy in the future when I have both boys in school…and I’m not best friends with their teachers!

I’ve never heard of this app, but it sounds very cool. It’s so important to consistently communicate with our children’s teachers.
Jeanine says
This sounds awesome. I wish schools here would do these. We do paper here still, and it gets hard trying to communicate that way.
Ann Bacciaglia says
I will have to check this app out. I will see you at the Twitter party.
Christie says
I can see how this app would be so important for teacher/parent communication! There’s so many language barriers
Crystal says
My children attend a school with a large percentage of English Language Learners. What a wonderful resource this would be to all of the families who want to be engaged in their children’s education, but aren’t able to communicate with the teacher.

This sounds like a very useful app. I was just talking about how some first generation american chldren end up being translators for their parents.
Kelly Hutchinson says
Sorry I missed the party! We are in pretty close contact via email with the kids teachers. This app would make it much easier.
