Have you been reading all of the secret set visit interviews? It was a total blast being hosted by Marvel Studios! I’m thankful to Disney for the opportunity. Today’s post is the Rapid Fire Q&A with Abby Ryder Fortson. Abby was 9 at the time of the interview and she’s smart as a whip. Our questions did not deter her, she was ready and fired off lots of answers maybe more than once. hee hee.
When interviewing a child actor, I have to say they blow me away every time. They are full of spunk and energy and Abby was no different. She was so much fun.
Here we go! Rapid Fire Q&A with Abby Ryder-Fortson
Q: What does it feel like to be working with the cast of Ant-Man again?
Abby: “It’s nice knowing everybody. Literally, almost everybody is back from Ant-Man and it feels better knowing everybody.”
Q: “Did you keep anything from the set? Something sparkly, perhaps?
Abby: “For me, what I like to wear on a normal day – soccer shorts.”
Q: What do you do with your time in between takes?
Abby: “I do my homework, I read, I hang out with the other actors.”
Q: What’s your process when you prepare for a role.
Abby: “I read the sides, I audition, I get it, then I practice more… then I shoot it.”
Q: What do your friend’s think about your being an actress?
Abby: “It’s cool, but some people, I feel like, just are my friend because I’m actor.” – She’s one smart cookie!
Q: Is it lonely?
Abby: “Nope,”
Q: Would you want to be an Avenger?
Abby: “Well, yeah!”
Q: What would be your super power?
Abby: “Invisibility. Because I like sneaking up on people.”
Q: Is it hard balancing acting and schoolwork on set?
Abby: “No, it’s not hard. I’ve been doing it since I was three.”
Q: What do you like doing with your free time?
Abby: “I love playing sports and I also like reading.”
What did I tell you! She’s got a good head on her shoulders. One of her parents is always with her, which I think is really smart. Her dad, actor John Fortson, was on set that day and sat with us as we spoke with Abby. He told us that she’s a quick study compared to other actors. It only takes a few reads before she pretty much nails the line. How awesome is that. I think Abby will have a long tragectory in the industry. But I have a feeling, she’ll be doing some work behind the camera in plenty of time.
Make sure to see her and the rest of the Ant-Man and the Wasp cast in theaters on July 6th!
