Make plans to spend some family time tomorrow night with Disney channel! For us 80’s babies this Disney channel original will have us giddy with nostalgia. Thanks to Disney I attended an all expense paid press trip, however all opinions stated are my very own. We remember the a young Elizabeth Shue in the original Adventures in Babysitting so this was a real treat. Here’s another cool tidbit, this is Disney’s 100th Original Movie! Yes so not only a milestone but an amazing recreation for the whole family to enjoy!

As you know as part of the press event we actually screened the movie! Yes I’ve managed to keep this under wraps for a couple months now. I know.. trust me it’s been hard! You are going to love this movie! Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson really do complete this movie. Getting to meet the two young ladies was truly a treat too.
Such poised young ladies with an amazing future ahead of them. We also had the opportunity to ask them some questions. About working on the film, their lives and the future.
The film is really fun so we imagined they had a blast filming it as well. We ask about fun and pranks on the set, here’s what they had to say. Sabrina told us about her babysitting experience, “I locked a babysitter out of the house. because she wasn’t a great babysitter. I will say that, because she brought over her boyfriend. (my sisters and I) were like, we don’t know this person.” In regards to their babysitting experience on-screen they both agreed that they enjoyed the experience and agreed that they would have a blast babysitting their co-hosts in real life. They really explained to us how it truly felt like a family on set. I know we hear that a lot when it comes to interviews, but it was like sitting there talking with sisters. They are a pretty dynamic duo.
You will have some good laughs during the movie, so we imagined that their comedic presence was strong. Sabrina was quick to share that Sofia is actually not funny. Sofia agreed and they had a good laugh about it. Sabrina added “what makes her funny is that she knows that she’s not funny. But with the script, she’s so funny!” You’re really going to enjoy the laughs in the film.
Along with the laughs the girls actually some pretty fun stunts in the film. Turns out Sofia did all her stunts. Unfortunately she actually got hurt doing what she classifies as the “lamest stunt of the whole movie….When they asked me to run and walk, I fell…” You’ll see the sequence in the beginning of the movie when she is running late to show her painting. Carpenter also did her fair share of stunts on the road. She doesn’t a drivers permit, so there was some improvisation in driving scenes. She also shared “We have a, a lot of bloopers of me in the car because, yeah, I can’t really drive” said Carpenter.

We asked if they identified with their characters. Their answers were interesting: Sofia said she felt “I’m kind of an in between. Lola is this really cool free spirited young girl who isn’t afraid to just live life, despite the consequences of sometimes making irresponsible decisions. But she’s really passionate about her art. And a very strong girl. I’m also very passionate about… I think we both are, about what we do about our music and acting. And we’re both also… I’m just gonna answer this for both of us, independent girls. We both have really strong, incredible moms. They taught us to be strong girls, represent girl power. Lola and Jenny are both like that. Although Jenny would know she’s a little bit more inside the box, she’s still a strong, powerful young girl. And we both save the day together.
Sabrina Carpenter: “What she said — It’s true though. I take from Lola because she’s got that edgy sense of humor, and she’s very, she’s very passionate about her art. Whereas Jenny can’t be creative to save her life. But I will say that I am sort of a perfectionist like Jenny”
“Adventures in Babysitting” brings together two unlikely friends when a tedious evening for contentious babysitters, Jenny Parker (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lola Perez (Sofia Carson), turns into an exciting journey in the big city as they hunt for one of the kids who somehow snuck away. The story unfolds when Jenny and Lola, two girls with distinctly different personalities, both interview for a coveted internship opportunity and accidently swap phones. In need of extra cash, audacious Lola nominates herself when the Andersons call Jenny looking for a last-minute babysitter. Meanwhile, dependable Jenny is already set to babysit the Cooper family for the evening. Lola’s first attempt at babysitting takes an unforeseen turn after Jenny discovers what Lola has done, and Jenny takes the kids to the Andersons to help rectify the situation. However, this leads all of them on an unexpected and exciting adventure of a lifetime.
The Disney Channel Original Movie also stars Nikki Hahn as Emily Cooper, Mallory James Mahoney as Katy Cooper, Max Gecowets as Trey Anderson, Jet Jurgensmeyer as Bobby Anderson, Madison Horcher as AJ Anderson, “BUNK’Ds” Kevin Quinn as Jenny’s crush Zac Chase, Gillian Vigman as Helen Anderson, Gabrielle Miller as Donna Cooper, Michael Northey as Tiny and Ken Lawson as Scalper, the two outlaws, Max Lloyd-Jones as Officer James, Kevin O’Grady as Barry Cooper and Hugo Ateo as Hal Anderson.
“Adventures in Babysitting” is directed by John Schultz (“Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer,” “Like Mike”) and written by Tiffany Paulsen (“Nancy Drew”). The movie is executive-produced by Michelle Manning (“Teen Beach 2,” “The Breakfast Club”) and Chuck Minsky serves as director of photography (“The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement,” “Mother’s Day,” “Valentine’s Day,” “New Year’s Eve”).
