The timer beeps, meaning the sweet treat you are making is done. You pull it out of the oven, and it looks perfect. After you let it cool, you bite into it, and it tastes magnificent. If this is what you dream of every time you bake, but each time it never seems to turn out quite right, don’t worry. If you want to improve your baking so that you can finally be an expert baker, here are some tips that you can use to help you improve your baking skills.

Bread

You’ve picked the perfect recipe that you want to make. One of the ingredients you need is brown sugar. So, you go to the cubert to get it out, you open the jar, and your face suddenly falls. Your brown sugar is hard, and you don’t have time to go to the store to get more. Well, you are in luck; there are some quick ways to make brown sugar soft. For example, you probably have a slice of bread, and this is one of the things that can help you with softening your brown sugar. Speaking of bread, it can also come in handy with cookies because you can use a piece of it when you store cookies to help them from getting hard.

Kitchen Scale

Did you know that measuring by volume is not the best way of measuring your ingredients? The best way is to go by weight because it means that you can be more precise. So, go and buy a kitchen scale now.

Buttermilk

You have picked a recipe that requires buttermilk, so you add it to your list to get for when you are at the grocery store, but wait, you can scratch buttermilk off your list and use this trick. Get out some milk and lemon juice or vinegar, these are the ingredients you can use to make your own. Put 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar into a 1 cup measuring cup and then fill the rest of it with the milk. Now you just have to let it sit for 5 minutes, and you will have buttermilk.

Room Temperature

Follow what the recipe says, so if it says that a specific ingredient should be at room temperature, then make sure that when you use that ingredient it is, in fact, at room temperature. There are some quick ways that you can make some ingredients room temperature if you forget to take them out early enough. For example, to make eggs come to room temperature quickly, you can put them into a bowl with warm water and let them sit for about 5 to 10 minutes.

Those are some of the great tips that can help you with taking your baking to the next level. If these tips have inspired you to bake something, then consider this peanut butter cookie recipe. Of course, if you want to become an even better baker, then there are many other tips that you can find online.

Question:

What will you be baking soon?

All the sweets!
