Keeping Your MilSpouse Friends Close with the SpouseLink App #ad

September 18, 2015 By Candy

Disclosure: I am a Special Contributor for SpouseLink, however all opinions expressed are my own.

One of the things that hurts during a pcs is leaving friends. The Army has actually made the world smaller as there’s a chance within an MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) that you’ll see each other again you still hate that the life you have built at that duty station changes. You’ll meet new friends they say. You’ll always stay in touch. Thanks to technology and social media that is proving to be true and you’ll be keeping your milspouse friends close with the SpouseLink app no matter the distance.

SpouseLink App 2

SpouseLink is an IOS compatible application only found on iTunes, (sorry Android users!). It’s a free social networking application and online site you can connect with your friends and make news ones! Remember the… “you’ll make new friends” comment. You can connect with MilSpouses at your new duty station and ask questions about your new area prior to even arriving! I don’t know about you, but I want to know the 411 on the area prior to getting there.

There are so many benefits of staying connecting and making new connections with the SpouseLink app, here’s a few from our sponsor that I back 100%:

  • Enjoy interacting with family and friends, sharing your experiences and getting involved with the Military community driven by Military Spouses.
  • It’s a resource that allows users to ask questions and share their experiences to help one another navigate MilSpouse life.
  • It is free!
  • There are currently no other Military Spouse social networks/platforms in existence.
  • The first social platform created just for Military Spouses, their friends and family, to use without all the extra noise that comes with other social networks.

How can you deny the power of social media and online networking right? Setting up an account is super easy and can be done from your phone. And there’s also helpful articles written for all to enjoy. In normal social media fashion you have the option leave a comment and give the post some love by clicking on the heart! You can also share the post on Facebook and Twitter.

SpouseLink App-2

While the app is geared toward Military spouses you can share the info to everyone.

Here are some more awesome app features:

  • Chat with friends and family, near and far
  • Check out what’s trending in the military spouse community news feed
  • Share updates and photos with a variety of privacy settings
  • The SpouseLink App was built with OPSEC and PERSEC (These are a huge pet peeve for me! Loose Lips Sink Ships Ya’ll!) considerations to keep your family and your service member safe
*I was happy to learn SpouseLink was created by AAFMAA which is a nonprofit focused on user experience.
  • Join groups and find resources to stay informed, get support and be inspired
  • If you’re looking to meet new people after your most recent PCS, join a group based on your base, branch and interests, or start a new group to engage other Military Spouses – Maybe get your FRG on it to share info with single soldiers and their families if there’s an impending deployment! There’s an idea! This is a versatile app that can be used for great things!

Spouse Link
I started a new conversation looking for spouses in my area. I found a friend too! I got really excited when I saw there was a comment left in my question.SpouseLink 2

It’s that easy to use this app to meet new people and make lifelong friends. As mentioned before this app is only available to iOS users. Share with us if you download this application. If you are interested in learning more about SpouseLink please visit their website by clicking HERE!

Question:

What is one thing you look for in a social networking page? How would SpouseLink work for you?

Cheers!

That is an awesome app. My husband was out of active duty and just down to the reserves by the time we met, but he always talks to guys from his past bases that he’s lived at.

Sounds like a great and interesting app. I don’t really do any networking besides facebook. So I’m not sure what to look for, but this sounds great. I know quite a few mil families!

This is so great! A close friend of mine that is a military spouse I met during a 1 1/2 year stay on the East Coast. They have continued to move all over the world and I think it’s taxing to leave friends so often. Whoever developed this really understands the need.

This sounds like a great app for military families. It must be hard to maintain friendships with all the moving, so this sounds like a perfect way to stay connected!
