For a long time now I’ve seen cooking shows where they grilled pizza and I’ve always wanted to try it. This is a sponsored post but the following opinions are my very own. When I received my STOK Quattro grill I knew it would be something we’d be trying. I’m all about doing stuff semi-homemade like my favorite Food Network chef Sandra Lee and this was no different. I realize as I get older my patience is shorter when it comes to fun stuff.. I’m like a kid, I know! But I’m excited to share our experience of grilling pizza on the STOK Quattro with you.
Like I said.. this girl doesn’t like to wait and waiting for the dough to rise is for the birds.. in my opinion. My friend Alicia is meticulous about her dough and giving it plenty of time to rise, she’s a great home cook. But I wanna get this party started now.. So yes, I purchased dough at the grocery store, but I did cut up all of my veggies myself. And don’t forget the fresh mozzarella! It makes all the difference on the pies. So good! I’ll have to try different pizza sauces and get back to you. The one we used was good.. but I’ll test others out and report back to you.
Prepping the STOK Quattro is super easy for the pizzas. This was our first time so it wasn’t pretty but they were delicious. I’m going to perfect grilling pizzas if it kills me! I’ve noticed that since we started using the gas grill the hubs and I really do grill as a team. He enjoys the ease and use of the gas grill like he never thought he would. That makes me so happy! He was the ultimate gas grill downer.. But now, he absolutely loves it! See ladies you can convert a charcoal man to gas!
We installed the STOK pizza stones on both burners to cut down on time, but I think next time we’ll make them one at a time so we aren’t as rushed because they cook kinda fast. The transfer of the pizza stones was very easy. They sit nicely in the insert space. Make sure to follow the directions so that you properly care for your stone and maximize it’s life.
From the STOK site:
Clearly we were in over our heads when we decided to put on both pizzas at the same time and we might have burned the pies a little.. But you know we still hailed our first try a win because the boys were so excited and we were pretty proud of our team work efforts. The smaller round pizza came out the best. I have to do better in rolling out the dough.. As you can see it was pretty thick.
I want to try making calzones next time. Again, I need to roll the dough thinner so everything cooks properly. We might have had one pizza not cook all the way through.. We’ve still got to figure out the best temperature too. There’s a lot to think about when grilling pizzas. For our first time, I think we did alright.
Doesn’t this look amazing? And to think we made it on a gas grill! We continue to be impressed with the STOK Quattro grill and we can’t wait to get out there and make another new recipe to us using it. I’ll be writing up another post to show you more ways to use the awesome inserts in the STOK Quattro insert system.

That cheese looks amazing. I love grilled pizza! My fave toppings are extra cheese and sun dried tomatoes.
