I’m pretty sure we can agree that no one wants to ever discover pests in their home. From ants and cockroaches to mice and rats, there are quite a few different creatures that try to make their home in our properties. If you find some in your own house, you’ll want to get them out as quickly as possible before they spread any germs or bacteria, or simply make a mess of your home. Think you have pests at home? Here are the solutions!
Here are some tips that can help you solve your pest problem at home:
Store All Food Correctly
First of all, it’s essential that you don’t leave any food out on your kitchen countertops. If you do, this will instantly attract all kinds of pests and vermin as it will be an easy source of food for them. So, make sure all of your food and ingredients go away into the fridge, freezer, or cupboards. It’s ok to leave things out to cool down before you do store them, but make sure they aren’t out for any longer than necessary.
Check For Leaks
If you do have pests in your home, they will be getting water from somewhere in order to survive. The most likely source of water will be leaks from faulty or loose-fitted pipes. You should check the pipes under your sinks, toilet, and bath. If you notice a pool of water, clean it up and see if there is a way to tighten the pipes to prevent any further drips.
Call An Expert
If your pest problem is quite bad, it might be worth contacting your local pest control firm right away. They will be able to deal with your issue no matter how big it is, and will be able to do so as quickly as possible. Once the firm has dealt with your pest problem, you won’t be able to tell that you ever had pests in the first place! I had the best bug man in the state of Georgia, email me if you need his number. He services the Fort Gordon areas.
Use Some Essential Oils
Did you know that some pests do not like essential oils? It will depend on what type of pest you have a problem with as to which oils you use. For instance, peppermint and clove oils repel mice. Sprinkling a few drops around your house should drive the rodents out before too long. Using citrus oil will help rid you of ants. If you need to get rid of a family of cockroaches, you can use peppermint, tea tree, and lavender oils. Who knew right?!
Use Humane Traps For Rodents
If you have a problem with rats and mice, you’ll be able to buy traps to catch them in. Lots of people would prefer not to use traps that kill the animals these days, so there are now lots of humane ones on the market. These won’t kill the rodents once they are captured. You can then take them outside and release them back into the wild.
Hopefully, using all of these tips will help you say goodbye to pests and vermin for good! Share your tips in the comments!
Cheers!
