If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter you got a full view of what my family was up to this past weekend! We got to spend a few days at the Schlitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels, Texas. Although the weather didn’t play nice while we were there, we had an incredible time learning about the property and being up close and personal with Bamboozle Bay in the new Blastenhoff area of the Schlitterbahn New Braunfels park!
We were one of the families invited to explore Schlitterbahn’s New Braunfels, first ever Family Spring Breakers! One of the things I have to say first off about Schlitterbahn is how they made my family feel special. I don’t think we’ve ever felt that comfortable and at ease with the available amenities and extra activities at any resort we have ever visited. We had a couple issues with our cabin keys and maintenance was sent out to help us very quickly! I have to add that it was after 2 in the morning too! That’s top notch service in my eyes! Other than that blip, this was truly an amazing experience and we have already made plans to go back! That in itself tells you something!
Back to the Family Spring Breakers!!
The Family Spring Breakers is still going on and ends on the 16th. Our first morning there we were greeted by the Director of Lodging and taken on a tour of the Schlitterbahn property in the Blastenhoff section. One of the fabulous things we learned while on our tour with the Director of Lodging was that they invited all of their current season pass holders to come in for Family Spring Break at no extra cost. How awesome is that?!
We had the opportunity to check out the TreeHaus Luxury Suites at the Schlitterbahn Resort! Can you say AMAZING! They were breathtakingly beautiful and yes, up in the trees!! Did you know Schlitterbahn has it’s own sawmill? Yes they do! They manufacture all of the wood used on the property! Being from a sawmill town myself, I was very impressed to learn this. Amazing craftsmanship goes into the suites and the Riverbend Cabins! Here’s a look at the inside of a Treehaus! There’s an amazing patio off the back that overlooks the Comal River and underneath the Treehaus there is a large picnic area to enjoy. Another interesting bit is that Schlitterbahn New Braunfels uses water from the Comal River! They filter the water coming in and going back out and adhere to strict EPA regulations. “Schlitterbahn, which was born on the banks of a river, has always been a steward of the water in the park. 98% of the water is recaptured, filtered, and reused all season.” The park was grandfathered into the system, no other park is able to use outside sources of water like Schlitterbahn New Braunfels.
The Blastenhoff section was the only portion of the water park open for Spring Breakers. Blastenhoff offers amazing amenities as well as the fun of the tower with the ups and downs of the Master Blaster. Blastenhoff inlcudes three amazing slides, The Master Blaster, the Wolfpack and the twisting darkness of the Black Knight. Or just soak up the sun on Blastenhoff beach while the family explores Hans Hideout. Hans Hideout was going to be mine and Ezra’s hangout during our stay. We like to split up sometimes so we can all enjoy ourselves, the hubs take Aramis and I take Ezra. I get the toddler, the hubs gets the tween! Hey it works!
I loved that in the evening Bamboozle Bay had a heated pool we could enjoy until 10pm nightly. The water was a warm 90 degrees. There are 4 heated pools on properties on the Schlitterbahn New Braunfels parks that are open to Winter Texans and Family Spring Breakers. Two on the older side of Schlitterbahn and 2 on the Blastenhoff side. Bamboozle Bay is one of them and we were right there!
One of the other things that made this an unforgettable trip was the fact that we were on-sight! We had the pleasure of staying in the Riverbend Cabins! Right along the lazy river that goes around Blastenhoff! If you have a chance to visit Schlitterbahn I highly recommend the cabins! The one we stayed in was a one bedroom style room with a fully functional kitchenette (stocked with items for your use, pots/pans and dishes) with refrigerator and gas stove! The cabins sleep 4-10 people! You can enjoy yourself at the park and then walk over to your cabin when you are ready to take a nap or get a bite to eat!
The beds were insanely comfortable! I have to say, we all slept like babies during our stay! Aramis is going to kill me for posting this picture!
Our room had two queen beds side by side. It worked out very well for us. Ezra can have some separation anxiety so it was perfect. And all of the wooden accents you see are all heavy sturdy pieces of the crafted wood. Amazing!
Overall we are completely in love with the Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Resort! My husband has never mentioned moving anywhere but home and he actually said to me, “Maybe we should retire here!” LOL He was pretty taken by Schlitterbahn, New Braunfels and the surrounding areas. I will be posting more on Schlitterbahn in the coming months. I’m also excited to bring you a chance to win tickets to the Schlitterbahn New Braunfels water park! Look for that very soon!
Ready to reserve your stay at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels? You can book online 24 hours a day or call reservations toll free (7am – 10pm) at

During the winter months, Schlitterbahn hosts their “Winter Texans.” Schlitterbahn is a resort that offers fun in the sun and in the winter! The winter resort season doesn’t end until late March. It’s a great if you are up north and prefer to change your scenery in the winter! You’ve got options!
Many thanks to US Family Bloggers and to the Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Resort.
