“Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?” Sing it with me, “SpongeBob Squarepants!” Our favorite yellow sea sponge is back to the big screen and the boys and I are so excited. I’m going to share a little secret with you, a couple of weeks ago during The Geekly Retreat I had the opportunity to see the trailer! Thanks to our friends at Paramount.
Honestly, I was just as excited to see the trailer again to notice things I didn’t see the first time. When you know you’re the first person to see something, it’s such an exciting moment you can miss a couple of things. Now that I’ve seen it a few times with the boys, (they LOVED it and can’t wait for summer) I can tell you a few things to look notice while you watch it below!

Obviously the most important part of the trailer is that our favorite snail is missing! As a true SB fan, my thoughts went to the episode, ‘Gary Come Home.’ I can only imagine that we might shed some tears but will enjoy a lot of laughs. I love that the background is animated like the cartoon but the characters are multi-dimensional. My oldest wasn’t too keen on a 3-Dish SB, but Ezra and I are loving the look.
And hello Keanu Reeves! As my friend Amanda from GuideForMoms called his cinematic return a “Keanussance” he is truly making the rounds and putting himself out there. His role as “Sage” will be fantastic, I can already tell. Can you tell I’m pumped for this new movie? I am. It’s gonna be great!
Synopsis
This Memorial Day weekend, SpongeBob SquarePants, his best friend Patrick Star and the rest of the gang from Bikini Bottom hit the big screen in the first-ever all CGI SpongeBob motion picture event.
