Validating The Woman You See In The Mirror

October 27, 2019 By Candy

We don’t always feel happy about the way we look. Everybody is unique in their appearance, and there is no such thing as “the perfect body shape”. Regardless, we feel doubt with regard to the way we look. We spot flaws in ourselves that aren’t really flawed. We tell ourselves that other people are prettier than we are. We are seriously our own worst critic. You’ve probably heard that saying before. That’s because it’s true for everyone. Learning to love your appearance isn’t about getting validation from anyone else; it’s about getting validation from yourself. The following pieces of advice in this article should help you to start validating the woman you see in the mirror. You matter and are important.

Start exercising every day

The first step to validating the woman you see in the mirror is to start exercising every day. Don’t misinterpret this piece of advice, however. Exercise isn’t an activity in which you should engage for the sole purpose of becoming skinny. Skinniness isn’t even the epitome of good health, and a slim waistline isn’t the golden solution to loving yourself. Healthiness is the key to loving yourself. When you take care of your body, you take care of your mind, too. Physical activity helps to improve your mood because moving your body leads to an increase of endorphins in the brain. So, starting to exercise every day could massively improve your mental health.

Your goal is to gain a balanced and healthy weight. When your body and your mind feel balanced, you’ll feel happier. That’s how you’ll start to change your perception of yourself and feeling confident about the person you see when you stand in front of your mirror. You don’t have to become an impressive athlete to achieve your health objectives, either. You could set yourself the goal of hitting 10,000 steps a day; with an app on your phone or a FitBit, you’ll feel motivated to do this. The key is motivating yourself to work out every day. Even 10 minutes of physical activity on a daily basis could make a massive difference to both your mental and physical state.

Take your fashion sense seriously

You should also take your fashion sense seriously if you want to validate the woman you see in the mirror. To clarify, that doesn’t mean you need to dress in expensive clothes in order to look and feel good. The point is that the outfits you wear have a big effect on the way in which you perceive yourself. Instead of hiding away under your clothes, you should use them to express yourself. You could turn a loose and baggy dress into something shapely and stylish with a nice belt, for example.

You should wear outfits that complement the shape of your body. That’s how you’ll start to feel more confident about the way you look. You might also want to get accessories such as necklaces or perhaps even earrings. If you want to express yourself in a very creative way, you could consider getting a tongue piercing. You should check out this website if you’re interested in taking that route. Body accessories can really add some flair to your appearance. Fashion is about more than just clothing, after all. The key is to feel confident about the way in which you present yourself. That’s how you’ll be able to start looking in the mirror and feeling good about the way you look. It’s about being able to see yourself and say: “yes, that’s me.”

Sleep properly on a nightly basis

Make sure you also sleep properly on a nightly basis if you want to feel good about your appearance. This is about more than just getting rid of the bags under your eyes. Obviously, sleeping well does help with skin blemishes, but you have to think about the reasons for that. A good night’s rest helps to keep you mentally healthy, so that’ll reduce feelings of stress and anxiety (which are both things that can cause acne and other skin blemishes). Sleeping well can also keep your metabolism working properly. If you’re trying to maintain a healthy weight, then a good night’s rest should be at the top of your priority list.

Give yourself compliments

Validating the woman you see in the mirror is about complimenting the woman you see in the mirror. Rather than looking at your reflection and picking out the aspects of yourself you don’t like (or trying to avoid doing that), take a positive perspective. Allow yourself to take a proper look at the person you see.

However, start noticing the positive things about your appearance. You might still pay attention to your flaws, but if you start paying yourself compliments, too, then you might start to notice a shift in your perspective. Don’t shy away from the mirror. Embrace it, and embrace yourself.
