Feeding versus Fueling

July 28, 2013 By Candy

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support and incentives for participating in the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. My opinions are my own. I am also a Shaklee Distributor!

Feeding versus Fueling

I am an over eater and will admit that; as much as I hate to. I had an epiphany the other day. I was enjoying a perfectly sized portion of left overs from the night before. I was satisfied and I wasn’t overly full- I had just fueled my body for the rest of the day or til the next meal. I realized I need to portion out my meals rather that just serve myself a whole heap of food. I must fuel my body, not necessarily feed it.

The differences between Feeding versus Fueling

*I must point out that the information listed below is all from my own finding.*

Feeding:

The act of eating calories. Not necessarily watching or counting the calories but just eating.

How many times have I caught myself doing this? Way too many times. Am I more conscious of what’s happening? Absolutely. I think in the grand scheme of things that in itself is the first step. Since starting the Shaklee180 program I am replacing two meals a day with Shaklee products. Is this helping me keep from just feeding? Yes, most of the time. I’m still human and make mistakes. I have missed a day here and there. It’s a struggle it really is. But I’m learning and to me that’s all that matters.

Fueling:

The act of providing good food for your body. Good food as in wholesome grains, fresh fruits and vegetables; nothing processed.

I am proud to say that since last year I have started getting all the processed food out of our home. It’s been a slow process but even my husband mentioned a couple of weeks ago- “Hmm there’s a lot of organic/non-gmo products in the pantry, that’s kind of cool.” That made me so proud. He has been a great sport about me changing our family’s eating habits and very open to more natural options. Even though he calls me a hippie sometimes LOL

What are you doing to your body? Feeding it or Fueling it?

My update for the Shaklee 180 program is not good. I have gained 4 pounds back. In speaking with my trainer, she thinks I am gaining muscle. I sure hope so! I have been doing a lot of work with kettle bells and honestly- I love it. My face might say something different, but I do enjoy it. I feel so powerful and strong when I’m doing the swings. It’s pretty amazing.

We are actually coming into the last official month of the Shaklee 180 blogger program. Am I sad? Absolutely! This process has been so eye opening for myself and not only do I love the products but I hope to keep buying them and hope that the weight keeps coming off.

Are you interested in trying Shaklee products?

The first three people to leave a comment will receive a Chocolate snack bar and a Pomegranate tea to try!
